Single leaf, 170 by 125mm, ruled for single column of 14 lines of a squat and angular bookhand, 2-line initial and line-fillers in gold on blue and pink, the recto with a full-page miniature of the Massacre of the Innocents before a seated and crowned Herod, who with an advisor beside him, looks on dispassionately as a soldier kills a child, another decapitated child on the green tiled floor, all within a coloured and gold frame and full decorated border of sprays of blue and gilt acanthus leaves, strawberries and small tri-lobed blue and pink flowerheads with gold centres on hairline foliage, a few spots and stains, else in excellent condition
