"Pen and brown ink, brown wash, double framing line in pen and black ink, on laid paper, 140 x 180 mm, signed with monogram and dated ""L 1521"" (some foxing, trimmed to framing line). Under passe-partout. Drawing after the engraving by Lucas van Leyden (NH 23), in the same direction. The sheet can possibly be situated within the context of the Lucas-revival occurring during the closing decades of the sixteenth century in and around Haarlem. The original series is dated 1512, while the present draftsman dated the scene 1521.Executed in the same technique and manner as two drawn pen-and-wash copies after Van Leyden's 'Abraham dismissing Hagar', now in the Amsterdam Rijksmuseum (RP-T-00-165) and the Detuit collection, Paris (PP-DDUT01001)"
