A dynamic representation of a Renaissance chimney piece with strapwork ornament in the center, flanked by two herms. The date '1580' most likely refers to the represented object, rather than the drawn sheet. The execution in red chalk, remind of the interior views rendered by the Belgian artist Nestor Cambier (1879-1957). He was often asked by Belgian and international nobility to make painted or drawn representations of their luxurious interiors
