Edition with annotations by Lactantius Placidus and Filippo Beroaldo. One of numerous illustrated Lyon editions (the first of which had been printed by Davost in 1510). Jacques Huguetan, born c. 1460, he was one of the generation of merchants like the Buyers and Etienne Gueynard who financed the installation of printing presses and book production in Lyon. The printing of the present edition was, of course, actually done by a former Venetian: Simon Bevilaqua, who settled at Lyon in 1505, came from Pavia originally but had a press at Venice from 1491 to 1503 at least"
