4to, [6], 76 ff, illustrated with 29 woodcuts, one of which hand-coloured. Beautiful large initial at the beginning. A few stains on some lvs. Otherwise a good copy. Vellum binding

First and only edition of this 'book of seven wonders' by theologian and Bishop of Vienna Friedrich Nausea, illustrating curious celestial and terrestrial phenomena such as bloody rain, earthquakes, prodigies, monsters, and virgin birth. The sixth part is entirely devoted to the appearance of Halley's comet in 1531. The smaller illustrations are by Anton Woensam, but the artist of the larger cut, depicting the Pope and King Ferdinand observing Halley's comet, is unknown. Ref.
