Single leaf, 137 by 100mm, with single column of 12 lines in two sizes of a high grade of early gothic bookhand, alternate red and blue initials with contrasting penwork, line-fillers in same in an array of geometric shapes, and with delicate blue penwork tracery with tiny red leaves and fruit emerging from them to fill the outer vertical border, one large initial 'A' in burnished gold, on pink and blue grounds with white penwork decoration overlaid, edges trimmed just clipping away lowermost few mm of extension of large initial and penwork at edges of verso, small spots and stains, else excellent condition
