Single leaf, 145 by 105mm, with single column of 22 lines of densely written lettre bâtarde, rubrics in dark red, initials in white or blue foliage on gold or burgundy grounds, each enclosing a sprig of foliage, line-fillers in same, the largest with red flowerheads, each side with a single border panel of a spray of white acanthus leaves with blue flowers and vines heavy with grapes emerging from its head and foot, both with a realistic green-headed bird (perhaps pheasants) with gilt plumage at their centre, the whole panel on a rich burgundy ground, small chips to grapes in border on one side, darkened down one side on verso from old mount, else good condition
