1ste uitgave tekst. De auteur werd geboren in Nieuwpoort in 1537. Na een reis in Italië werd hij raadsheer bij de Admiraliteit en landhouder in Veurne Ambacht voor Nieuwpoort. Vervolgens was hij verantwoordelijk voor de uitrusting van de Spaanse legers in West-Vlaanderen. Na het einde van de Oostendse belegering trok hij zich terug in Alveringem en daarna in Brussel waar hij in 1609 overleed. Ref. BT n°2041 ; Adams M-539 ; Machiels M-173. Niet in Brunet, noch in BB
